    2009 Memorial weekend holiday

We returned to the Yakima Valley Saturday & Sunday of the holiday weekend. Nick and Kay were coming too. We thought we'd sight see and have a chance to visit some other of the many wineries in the area. We stayed at Trail Inn RV Park in Yakima. Nice set up, clean, convenient, easy hook-up and reasonable.  Our tour began Saturday after breakfast. Rich was the designated driver. We packed a picnic lunch and headed out. The first stop was to see David, Lisa and the boys at Horizon's Edge to check out their selection of wines. Lisa was great pouring the samples of wines and explaining how they were made and blended and aged. We found some we really liked. The next stop was back at Maison de Padgett and have our picnic. Jerry poured there and more wine was purchased. From there we drove to Wineglass , Bonair, and Masset Wineries. Each one was interesting and they all had their own charm. Well, by 4P  we were ready to head back to Yakima, tasting and consuming wine began to have it's effects. We relaxed for the evening and left there early Sunday and got into Spokane by 2P.
Monday morning we left early for our boating trip to the Spokane River and a cruise on the houseboat. John, Nichole and Marcus had been in Spokane for a visit with the grandparents-all 4 sets live in the area. They stayed at Nick & Kay's. We took the Smith's boat and spent the day on the river. Marcus loved the boating and was the center of attention. He'll be 2 in August. It was great to see them. Baby #2 is due late August and the Webers are looking forward to greeting  her. Yes, a girl and her first name is chosen. It's Arianna.
You couldn't have asked for better weekend weather . It was so nice to have the warmth and sunshine for 3 consecutive days.  Hopefully, it will continue and summer will be warm. Please take a look at the photos and remember to click on them to see full size and captions.
