Late Summer and Fall 2008 entries

My recent activities have been focused on Mark's passing(4/21/67-7/17/08)  and the difficulties , due to complications with notification, surrounding it. With the loving and continuous support from Rich and the love from all Mark's siblings, I got through the hardest days. The group of close friends in NYC kept us informed of their tribute plans there and in the desert festival "Burning Man". I deeply thank those in the wide circle of family and friends who expressed their sympathy to us. Thanks to Kay & Nick for their thoughtfulness. It means a lot. Our 2 week long trip to Seattle (8/16-30) to lend support to Melissa after her illness and surgery occured at the same time. I stayed with Melissa most of the time. We did get to visit with my mother and Mike & Sandy. We had long visits with Stew & Linda and their kids. Rich stayed at Maggies overnight. We held off planning a family memorial in Seattle until Jack returned from his trip. On Nov. 8th we got together at Mike and Sandy's home for a remberance and memorial for Mark. It was a sorrowful reason to re-connect. However, I was grateful to have the support and love surrounding me. There were enough smiles and a few laughs which are hopeful signs of better times to come. We owe a big thanks to Sandy & Mike for graciously offering us their guest room for the days we were in Seattle. Thanks so much to Ann, Kay, Melissa, Julie, Mama and Judy for helping organize for the houseful of family who came to the memorial on the 8th. It made it more meaningful to me because that was the house I brought Mark to after he was born. After numerous tries and searching databases in New Hampshire, I did get an email from David. He was shocked and saddened to hear my news. So, now he knows.
I get my sad moments and I have many regrets. But, life will go on for us all.
